Twice a year is enough in most streets. Once a year is not enough under a lime tree.

Worth doing
- Clear them after the leaves come down, and again in spring.
- Watch a downpipe in heavy rain rather than climbing up to look.
- Check the joint where two lengths meet, because that is where they part.
